Connor teaches elementary to intermediate piano in many styles including classical, rock, country, jazz, metal, and pop. Connor received a bachelor’s degree in music performance and jazz studies from Virginia Commonwealth University in May 2010. While at VCU, he studied with pianist Bob Hallahan, guitarist Mike Ess, composer Doug Richards, and trombonist/composer Antonio Garcia. He also performed in masterclasses led by jazz trumpeter Dave Douglas and guitarist Anthony Wilson.

As a jazz musician, he performs regularly in a variety of settings with various ensembles. For the last several years, he has played at various venues in the Richmond area, such as Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, Tobacco Company restaurant, Havana 59, Maymont, and at private functions. He also performs and composes original tunes in various styles and instrumentations.

Connor firmly believes that music should be fun and that music lessons should be tailored to a student’s interests, tastes, and goals as much as possible. He has been teaching piano professionally to all ages since 2008.
