Kayla grew up in Northern Virginia, where she began to play the piano at age eight. Perusing a variety of musical interests, Kayla studied Music Therapy at Radford University and Music Philosophy abroad at Glasgow University in Scotland, before completing her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at Virginia Commonwealth University. She studied piano with internationally renowned pianists Dmitri Shteinberg and Nitza Kats, and has performed in master classes for Sonia Vlahcevic and John O’Connor.

Kayla has worked as a professional accompanist, performer, and teacher for the past 7 years. She has accompanied the Radford University Choir, and currently accompanies VCU’s Ballet Department. Kayla is the Music Director for an international church and has taught piano lessons to children and adults throughout the Richmond area.

In addition to her classical piano studies, Kayla has enjoyed performing as the keyboardist for several rock and pop groups throughout Richmond and Northern VA. She has experience with cultural music and studied Brazilian guitar with Professor Kevin Harding during her stay at VCU. Kayla establishes a strong foundation for her students in piano technique while exploring their individual interests. She accepts children ages 4 and up as well as adults, from the beginning to advanced levels.
